Smoky Blue Eye

Hello Color Elated!
Isn't makeup love funny?  There are times we can be so fickle about some things.  We buy a product and it sits on the shelf or in the drawer for weeks or months.  Confess!  You know you are guilty.  Or, we do what I am writing on today:  we have a look we try one day, and we crush on it for several days to follow.  It was always there, but we just "stumbled" on it and just cannot shake it.  Well, that is where I am with the blue smoky eye.  I love the drama and mystery of it. It looks so good on so many skins and can be worn so many ways.  Here are two I have crushed on hard!

I love to start with a warm bridge color in the crease.  So I took colors from my site, Color Elation Cosmetics.  Henna is the PERFECT matte cinnamon bridge color.  Perfect for warming the crease.  Then, I took a flat shader and  dampened it with MAC Fix + to foil and deepen the color.  Indigo Black needs little help with this, but I took this  amazing dark blue shimmer and applied it to the lids.  I then deepened the crease with MAC pigment in Dark Soul.  For a dazzling shot of electric silver, I used Color Elation Dazzle, a bright tinsel silver in the inner corners. The look was finished with L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara over falsies and Wet 'n' Wild black gel liner.  I wore this look for work and enjoyed every minute!
Another great color combo comes from Hard Candy.  I found these great little palettes at Wal Mart.  They were so reasonably priced and gorgeous, I had to invest in a couple.  So, I purchased a green and a blue palette.  I was so pleasantly surprised to find the colors beautifully pigmented and arranged in such a great variety.  The colors are shimmery.  Since I do not like a lot of glitz for day, I wore come matte shades to tone it down.  They gave me a softer version than the above look, but I was very pleased with the result.
